Executive Director James Hardie to take up new post

The Marian Consort’s Executive Director James Hardie will be moving to a new role as Chief Executive of Scottish Ensemble at the start of 2025.

Joining as General Manager in February 2019, during James’ tenure The Marian Consort has enjoyed significant growth in reputation and reach, with debuts at the BBC Proms, Ravenna Festival, Miller Theatre New York and Bunka Kaikan Recital Hall Tokyo. Recently launching a talent development programme for emerging composers, The Marian Consort has championed new music for vocal ensemble, presenting premieres from the likes of Roderick Williams, David Fennessy and Barbara Monk Feldman at Britten Pears Arts, Brighton Festival and the V&A London. James has helped attract growing support for The Marian Consort, securing grants from the likes of John Ellerman Foundation and Foyle Foundation, as well as membership of PRS Foundation’s Talent Development Network.
