What information do we collect?

We, or our third party secure payment providers may collect and store data from you when you visit our website, make online purchases, support us through donations or membership schemes, sign up to our mailing list, contact us about our activities or otherwise provide us with personal information.

We keep a record of the emails we send you, and we may track whether you receive or open them so we can make sure we are sending you the most relevant information. We may then track any subsequent actions online, such as clicking on a link in the email.

Like most websites, we and our suppliers receive and store certain details whenever you use our website.  We use “cookies” to help us make our site – and the way you might use it – better. Cookies mean that a website will remember you and enable online transactions. It also helps us understand how you use our website and where we can make improvements.

Whenever you give us personal information, you are consenting to its collection and use in accordance with this policy, including our use of cookies.

How do we hold your data?

Your personal data will be held and processed on our systems or systems managed by suppliers on behalf of The Marian Consort. Your data is held securely and access to customer data is strictly controlled so only staff members who have a reason to work with your data have access to it.

When you purchase physical materials or digital content from The Marian Consort, payment is handled by our third party online secure banking partners, PayPal and Stripe.

Some of our suppliers run their operations outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Although they may not be subject to same data protection laws as companies based in the UK, we have taken steps to make sure they provide an adequate level of protection in accordance with UK data protection law. By submitting your personal information to us you agree to this transfer, storing or processing at a location outside the EEA (including in the United States).

What do we use it for?

If you make a purchase, sign up for an event or give a donation we usually collect your name, contact details and your bank or credit card information (if making a transaction). We use this data to provide you with the products, services or information you asked for, ensure we know how you prefer to be contacted, keep our records up to date, understand how we can improve our communications or events, administer your donation or to process Gift Aid. We may also use this information to improve, prevent or detect fraud or abuses of our website. By using our website you agree to our use of the data we receive from you for these purposes.

When you register on the website or make a purchase there is an option to sign up to our mailing list to stay up to date with our news. We will not contact you unless this box is ticked. We will include opt-out instructions on any communications you receive from us.

We do not share personal details to third parties for any purpose. The only exceptions to this is if we are legally required to share the information, or it’s necessary to ensure compliance of a financial agreement you may enter into with The Marian Consort. We will only share personal details for the purposes of marketing if you have given explicit consent for us to do this.
